Peter Makebish

Hailing from Red Hook, after living in Manhattan for 24 years, Peter Makebish currently resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Although Peter works primarily in New York City, he is equally adept in the Hudson Valley. His career has spanned the worlds of music and art for two decades before entering the real estate, where he's found his newest passion.

Peter first turned his hand to music as a DJ and producer in 2000 after a successful stint as a music photographer. Peter soon became hotelier André Balazs’s go-to DJ for the stylish nights at hush hush SUB Mercer, located below the Mercer Hotel. Peter was a fixture on the decks at after-parties for the White Stripes and Depeche Mode among others. After DJ'ing, Makebish expanded his list of talents by curating art shows with stunning success.

Still with a hand in the art business, bringing opportunities to acquire rare pieces to private clients, Peter has garnered an impressive early track record in the real estate business in a very short time. That's no surprise from a man whose relationships are trusted and real, in a world where that's an infrequently encountered asset. After all, having great relationships and being counted on as trustworthy are the cornerstones of any thriving real estate practice. A natural born collaborator, Peter's keen instincts about what makes people tick and his ability to match his clients with the right properties out of his deeply human understanding distinguishes his work with each of his clients. Along with luxury and commercial real estate marketing and sales, Peter fills the dual role of senior art advisor for Atelier's team and clientele.

In his free time, Peter enjoys family time with his daughter, spending time exploring the city's neighborhoods and parks, engaging with friends, meeting new friends, and maintaining an active presence in the art and music scenes in New York City.
